This session describes statewide patterns of college and career preparatory coursetaking, including A-G courses, AP courses, advanced math courses, dual enrollment, and CTE pathways, across California high schools and demographic subgroups. It also explores the relationship between participation in the various course pathways (independently and in combination) and later postsecondary enrollment at both 2-year and 4-year colleges. We then offer an equity-based framework through which schools, districts, and county offices can audit and understand patterns in college and career preparatory course-taking in their local context.
