Family and community engagement is a powerful lever for improving student attendance, behavior, and achievement, especially for students who have been historically underserved. Yet many schools and districts lack practical, validated ways to assess whether staff have the mindsets, knowledge, and skills needed to build authentic, culturally responsive partnerships with families.This session introduces a new culturally responsive family and community engagement measurement tool developed in by RTI International in partnership with the California Collaborative for Educational Excellence and its Community Engagement Initiative. Participants will learn what the tool measures, how pilot findings can inform professional learning and continuous improvement, and how school and district teams can use evidence about staff capacity to strengthen family partnerships and advance equity.
