Behind every student group is a complex set of definitions, policies, and identification practices that shape the story the data tell. This session explores the often-overlooked nuances in data related to foster youth and students experiencing homelessness. Participants will interact with a custom visualization tool to explore their local data and have the opportunity to discuss how these factors influence trends and outcomes at the state, county, and local levels. Attendees will leave better equipped to critically interpret vulnerable student data and to conduct analyses that are more accurate, contextualized, and meaningful.
